Requesting information from suppliers is an important part of many companies' product compliance programs. Current and recently-used suppliers are an important source of necessary data. Should past suppliers be included in these requests for compliance information?
In general, you can exclude suppliers that you have not done business with for some time. However, if you still have products from any past suppliers that are used in your product (that is, if you are still using up stock purchased from the supplier), you should communicate with those suppliers when lists of regulated substances are updated so you have the latest information for your new products.
