EU REACH - Sunset Date

Question Posed:

What is the sunset date?
Can substances be removed after the sunset date?

Answer Provided:

Sunset dates do not mean that the substance can no longer be used at all, it is the date after which a company needs authorisation in order to put the product on the market. Authorised substances remain in the SVHC Candidate for Authorisation list (commonly known as the REACH list or REACH SVHC list) and must be communicated to customers along with the authorisation details. Therefore, nothing is removed from any list unless it officially is removed from the list by the European Commission and/or European Chemical Association (ECHA).
