What is Toxics in Packaging?

Both the EU Waste Directive and U.S. CONEG/TPCH Standard concern the presence of heavy metals in packaging. The sum concentration of lead, cadmium, mercury, and hexavalent chromium present in any packaging materials (cartons, display packaging, plastic bags, etc) does not exceed 100 ppm by weight as specified in Directive 94/62/EC. For products shipping to the U.S., exemptions may be applicable as per the CONEG/TPCH standard.
