One of the ways the U.S. Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) seeks to prevent or reduce environmental pollution is by restricting the use in or import to the U.S. of certain substances or substance families. These restrictions are established under Section 6 of TSCA.
TSCA Section 6 violations are prohibited, and penalties are established, under Title 15 and Title 18 of the U.S. Code. Violations may be subject to civil and/or criminal penalties, including fines and/or incarceration.
