TSCA restricted substances: What are my responsibilities?

The January 6, 2021 publication of final rules restricting five chemicals in products under the U.S. Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) involves specific requirements and/or prohibitions for each listed chemical. The requirements are detailed in each chemical's final rule, although certain details may be amended following a 60-day public comment period beginning on March 8, 2021.

Companies that manufacture, import, process, use, or commercially distribute any of the 5 chemicals should be aware of the latest updates to requirements and prohibitions associated with the substance(s) they use. Some substances may have requirements or prohibitions that apply to certain industries or uses, while others are excepted from some or all of the requirements/prohibitions associated with the substance.
