AVL: An Approved Vendor List is a list of suppliers that a company does business with because they meet its standards in terms of quality or price.

BOM: A Bill OMaterials is a comprehensive list of materials or components of a product that can include a shopping list and instructions on how to assemble the product.

CFSIThe Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative addresses conflict minerals issues in a wide range of industries. It offers independent third-party audits, Conflict Minerals Reporting Template and guidance papers on responsible conflict minerals sourcing.

CMConflict Minerals are: columbite-tantalite, cassiterite, wolframite, gold and their derivatives that are financing conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo and adjoining countries.

CMRT: The Conflict Minerals Reporting Template is a free, standardized reporting template developed by the Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative that facilitates the transfer of information through the supply chain regarding mineral country of origin and smelters and refiners being utilized. The template also facilitates the identification of new smelters and refiners to potentially undergo an audit via the CFSI’s Conflict-Free Smelter Program.

Company Level CMRT: A CMRT that makes a conflict minerals claim for all of it's products, components, and parts.

DRCDemocratic Republic of Congo, situated in central Africa, is very rich in natural resources. The country suffers from political instability and lack of infrastructure.

EICCElectronic Industry Citizenship Coalition is the world's largest industry coalition dedicated to electronics supply chain responsibility.

Product Level CMRT: A CMRT that makes a conflict minerals claim for a single product and all of that product's associated components and parts.

SEC: The Security and Exchange Commission regulates the securities industry and enforces federal law. It does not have criminal authority and enforces the law through the imposition of fines.

Smelter: An industrial plant in which smelting is carried out.

Smelting: The process of extracting metal from ore through heating and melting.

SORSmelter ORefiner facility uses heat and/or chemical agents to produce a base metal from its ore.
